Bardolino Wine Festival

Bardolino promenade from the air

Among wine connoisseurs, Bardolino is one of the three big names in the Veneto.
The area under cultivation on the eastern shore of Lake Garda is about 2800 hectares, and the region produces about 217,000 hectolitres of wine every year.
The ruby-red Bardolino classico and the light, flowery summer wine Chiaretto are particularly popular.

The small town of Bardolino, with its 6,000 inhabitants, is dedicating a festival to rosé, which is also made into a sparkling spumante, with tasting stands along the picturesque lakeside promenade.
The individual producers provide information about grape varieties, wine-making techniques and cultivation methods, among other things.

The various wines can of course also be tasted at the wineries and bought directly. In addition to the wine, fish, pasta or cheese provide a culinary basis. Music plays and the organisers stage an international dragon boat competition on the lake. Then in the evening, fireworks round off the programme.
