Bread Festival in Qormi
Qormi Casal Fornaro - literally translated "baker's village" - was the historical name of the present-day town of Qormi. Numerous bakeries had already settled here in the times of the Knights of Malta, and Qormi's bakeries still live on their good reputation today.
The annual festival "A night in Casal Fornaro" revives this old tradition.
For example, visitors can visit a historic bakery where baking is still done as it was 100 years ago. And there is a bread show that demonstrates the whole diversity of Maltese baking, as well as an exhibition of farm animals.
Traditional dances and folk music will find their stage as well as modern bands. The residents also proudly display handicrafts such as bobbin lace and knitting.
