D`Miselerland distils

Distillery in Miselerland

The art of distilling has a long tradition in Luxembourg's Moselle region: almost all winegrowers used to own the right to distil and produced marc brandies, the Vieux Marc, from the residues of wine production.
And because the region with its mild climate is also an excellent fruit-growing area, apricot, pear or plum soon found their way into the distilleries.

How the ripe fruits of the region are turned into fine spirits is demonstrated by six traditional distilleries during the event D`Miselerland brennt! (Miselerland distills)
Show distilling and tastings of the brandies, cold and warm specialities from the region are on the programme.
As well as guided hikes, vintage car or covered wagon rides through vineyards and along orchards.

For children there are pony rides, straw jumping or tractor rides. Almost all farms have also set up a small play corner.
And a number of restaurants offer a special menu.
