Hildegard von Bingen already praised the soothing effect of fresh lime leaves and recommended a tea from the blossoms of the tree for stomach upsets. The richest leaves come from Buis-les-Baronnies, a small town on the northern edge of Provence.
Every year on the 3rd Saturday in July a big lime blossom festival takes place here.

The festival offers lime blossom, aromatic and healing plants, guided plant walks and workshops.
There are games and animations for children, but most impressive is the lime blossom market, the largest of its kind in Europe.
