Müritzer Fish Feast
Eel, barbel, pike or zander: the Müritz is a true fishing paradise. More than 26 fish cavort in Germany's second largest lake.
Fishing is therefore traditionally an important economic sector - and is celebrated with a festival in mid-September.
The Müritz Fishing Days open in mid-September with the traditional landing of the catch and a fanfare procession.
Show cooking, a fish roasting course as well as fresh smoked fish provide for the culinary well-being.
The fishermen's farms also present their specialities, give an insight into their work or show how to filet fish professionally.
Further program points are a sailor's choir, child make-up or bouncy castle.
The event ends with a fish feast in Fischer's Land Boek.
The highlight here is the fishing of the large sturgeons followed by caviar tasting including vodka.
