Styrian Wine Week: Woman in traditional costume poures wine

Blauburger and Zweigelt, Schilcher and Welschriesling: 13 grape varieties characterise the wines of Styria.  With an area of 4323 hectares, it is the second largest wine-growing region in Austria.
Leibnitz near the Slovenian border is the centre of production, where the Styrian Wine Queen opens a wine festival in mid-August.

Styrian Wine Week: Social Gathering

Around 50 winegrowers from the three wine-growing regions of south-east, south and west Styria present their current vintages - around 300 wines can be tasted and bought on the five days.
Culinary stands, live music and traditional costume fashion shows are part of the programme - and the hobby artists' market Around 100 exhibitors will be showing the art objects they produce in their spare time.
