Aromas of citrus fruits, a hint of anise and subtle herbal notes: In the Rueda, the Verdejo grape develops its characteristic features.
And thanks to dedicated winegrowers, it produces sparkling, fresh white wines.

The centre of the wine-growing region is the village of Rueda with its 1300 souls, about 30 kilometres south-west of the provincial capital Valladolid.
The region's annual grape harvest festival, the Fiesta de la Vendemia, also takes place here.

Many winegrowers open their wine cellars on this day and invite to tastings.
There is a competition for the best bodega. A craft market, street theatre, regional dances and traditional music.
