More than 115 years ago 35 winegrowers founded the cooperative Winzerkeller in the Franconian Sommerach to market their wines.
Today, 90 families cultivate around 196 hectares of vineyards - and celebrate their success every year at Whitsun with a large wine festival.

On a large stage in front of the winegrower's cellar, musicians of different styles play on all four days: Reggae and salsa, funk and soul, jazz and acoustics. The hosts also serve Franconian catering and homemade cakes.

Of course, the focus of the festival is on the wines of the cooperative: The dry Silvaner, the strong Pinot Blanc Spätlese - both from Sommeracher Katzenkopf - or an elegant Riesling from Escherndorfer Lump.

These and other fine wines can be tasted at the tap, and the winegrowers also invite you on a tour of the Wine World: The building combines a vinotheque, a wine school and a culinary school in an impressive modern architecture.
