All Apricot

Apricot sale at the festival "All Apricot" in Krems

In 1679 the reading master of the high monastery St. Peter in Salzburg mentions apricots for the first time, which are harvested on the monastery fields in the Wachau.
In the meantime, 226 farmers in the region cultivate around 100,000 apricot trees - almost exclusively of the Klosterneuenburger Marille variety.

All Apricots: Cutting The Cake

Visitors to the annual All Apricot festival in mid-July can see for themselves the quality of this variety. The fruit is offered in the form of cakes, dumplings and pancakes. Ice cream, punch, liqueur or schnapps - and of course unprocessed fresh from the tree.

Festive Mile at the Event: All Apricot

During the three days, the shopping mile of the Krems Old Town is transformed into a stage for folk dance groups and musicians. Local craftsmen show their skills in a showroom.
Other highlights of the festival are the cutting of the 25-metre-long apricot cake and the entry of the apricot prince and prince couple at the opening.
