Culinaric Feast Festa Artusiana

Fortress Rocca di Forlimpopoli

He is considered the father of Italian national cuisine: Pellegrino Artusi. Born in 1820 in Forlimpopoli, Emilia-Romagna, the gourmet published his cookbook La scienza in cucina e l'arte di mangiar bene (On the Science of Cooking and the Art of Enjoyment) more than 125 years ago - the bible of Italian cuisine.

Fairground during the Festa Artusiana

His birthplace in the province of Forlì-Cesena dedicates a festival lasting several days to him every summer, the Festa Artusiana.
During the nine-day event, there is a rich culinary programme - with show cooking, tastings and degustations, as well as a large market where growers and small craft businesses present their culinary products.

Solo musicians and bands, puppeteers and magicians, artists and street performers will perform on several stages.
There are top-class discussion events on the subject of culinary arts, but also photo exhibitions and installations dealing with the life and work of Pellegrino Artusi.
