Election and coronation of the German wine queen, public wine tasting of the Palatinate wines, Germany's largest winegrower procession with the magnificent carriage of the newly elected wine sovereigns: The German Vintage Festival in Neustadt an der Weinstraße is an event of superlatives and attracts around 200,000 visitors annually.

The Haiselscher, the small half-timbered wine taverns erected on the station forecourt, are the centre of the event, which lasts several days. Here the winegrowers of the region invite you to a wine tasting with specialities of the Palatinate cuisine.
Next door, on the Hetzelplatz, visitors can taste wines from all 13 German wine-growing regions - and the large Palatinate wine tasting takes place in the Saalbau of the city.

Music bands, ancient customs groups, a large amusement park with a Ferris wheel and a chain carousel provide entertainment every day until a firework display on the Haardt hillside concludes the festivities on the last evening.
