For one week, the waterfront of the Rio Arade in Portimao is transformed into a huge open-air restaurant.
Until deep into the night, fish are grilled on long, iron troughs along the promenade decorated with stalls.

They are served with a piece of bread, a jacket potato or a fresh tomato salsa. During the day, bands, fado bands and dance groups provide the background, while Portugal's pop stars perform in the evening.
