Savoie Cheese Festival

Raclette and Reblochon. Chevrotin and Tomme. Emmentaler and Tome des Bauges. Beaufort and Abondance:
Eight different types of cheese are produced in Savoy - sometimes from cow's milk, sometimes from goat's milk.
Each has a protected designation of origin and is of excellent quality.

At their summer cheese festival, the cheese dairies of the region demonstrate how these different varieties are made. Each year they take place in a different place.
Cheese tastings, the presentation of typical Savoy cheese dishes and other DOP products from the region are part of the culinary programme.

There will also be a parade of regional cow and goat breeds, various competitions, such as woodcutters, and cheese contests.
Hikes to the alpine pastures are also organised and a rich music and children's programme round off the event.
