Wine Festival Gaillac

Wine has been grown on the southern slopes of the Tarn valley for around 2000 years. With more than 23 authorised grape varieties, the Gaillac wine-growing region is more diverse than almost any other: the spectrum ranges from sparkling wines to dry or sweet whites, fruity rosés and full-bodied reds.

In addition to the international varieties such as Syrah or Cabernet, it is above all the local varieties Braucol, Ondenc or Mauzac that make up the character of the wines.
Visitors can get to know the whole variety at the Gaillac wine festival, which takes place every year at the beginning of August.

In the Chateau de Foucaud park, the winegrowers have set up small tasting stands where they offer their reds and whites and explain the special features of the terroir.
The procession of the Brotherhood of Winegrowers is accompanied by a brass band, and in the evening there are concerts of various musical styles.

The local farmers have also set up stalls with culinary delicacies. And the city provides information about eco-tourism in the region.
Playgrounds for young and old, taste workshops are also part of the festival, which ends on Sunday with a big fireworks display.
