Every two years, the small market town of Sand in Taufers in South Tyrol becomes the center of cheese lovers from all over Europe: During the cheese festival, affineurs, professional buyers and cheese producers meet a broad interested audience.
In addition to the tasting booths with cheeses from all over the world, but also other South Tyrolean specialties, aspiring as well as established top chefs show their skills on the show stage.

Whether French classics, cheese from the Grisons or DPO cheese with a protected designation of origin: in ten guided tastings, participants will learn a lot of interesting facts about the production of cheese.
And special cheese dishes will be served in numerous local restaurants during the festival days.

There is also a challenging children's program: with a lot of patience, the cheesemakers show the little ones in hands-on workshops how to make cream cheese or mozzarella, how to churn butter or how to make a perfect cheese fondue.
