Festival of Arzùa Ulloa Cheese


Soft or hard, made from raw or pasteurised cow's milk, round or conical: Arzùa-Ulloa
is one of the most popular cheeses in Galicia.
At the beginning of March, around 100,000 copies roll over the sales counter at the Festa do Queixo in Arzua.


The event is a trade and consumer fair with a festive character. Around 50 cheese dairies present their cheese varieties in the exhibition halls, which can be tasted and bought on the spot.


In the restaurants of this small town on the edge of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago, chefs compete in a contest for the most creative and tastiest tapa made from cheese.
In the afternoon and in the evening bands of different styles play.
