Every two years, an international cheese competition - the Käsiade - takes place in Hopfgarten, in the beautiful Brixen Valley.  Cheesemakers from Austria, Italy, France or the Netherlands have their hard and fresh cheese, curd or butter judged by a top-class jury of experts.
The best dairy products are put on the podium and awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.

But not only the jury gets to taste the cheese specialities from the participating countries, there will also be tastings and sales for the public - and wines will be tasted to match.
A brass band and the Schützenkompanie Hopfgarten will provide musical accompaniment.
