In almost every English pub there is a tap for ale and a tap for cider. The cider simply belongs to the pub culture of the island.
You can get a nice overview about it at the beer and cider festival in Manchester.

At the beginning of the year, approximately 15 000 beer fans stream into the halls of the Manchester Central to try up to 700 different beers and apple wines. Some Perries, pear beers, are also available for tasting.

The supporting programme includes guided tastings on specific topics such as Belgian Trappist beers or courses for beer and cider tasters.
There will also be a selection of typical English street food and stands with books or memorabilia about beer.
