Olive Oil and Bruschetta Festival

Flowery street in Spello

Spello, situated on the southern slopes of Monte Subasio in the province of Perugia, is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The municipality, surrounded by a ring wall, is home to a wealth of attractions:
For example, the Roman one-arched town gate, the 14th century Cappella Tega with frescoes by Nicoló Alunno. Or the Palazzo Comunale, built around 1270.

The town is also known for its high quality olive oil, which comes from the gentle hills of the surrounding area.
The gold of Spello is the protagonist of a culinary event: the Olive Oil and Bruschetta Festival. Mid-November.

Olive oil tasting in Spello

During the three-day events there are several guided tastings of different olive oils.
An agricultural parade rolls through the town and the taverns open their doors and serve special menus - the tastiest one is honoured with a prize at the end.

There are also cooking courses and walks through the picturesque old town.
Discussion evenings with a culinary theme, art exhibitions and musical performances complete the event.
