It is a classic of pasta cuisine. And comes with only a few ingredients: Spaghetti all'Amatriciana. Since 2020, this simple dish from the Lazio region can call itself a guaranteed traditional specialty. A title that only a few Italian dishes can boast.

Originally, the pastoral dish comes from the small mountain village of Amatrice, which until the devastating earthquakes of 2016 and 2017 had a well-preserved medieval center with city walls dating back to the 13th century and six city gates.
To date, there was also a festival every summer in honor of their pasta dish.

After years of reconstruction, the festival has been held again since 2021: Always on the last weekend in August. The program includes performances by street artists, folklore groups and an exhibition of typical and handicraft products.
And, of course, hundreds of portions of spaghetti all'Amatriciana are distributed to the festival guests.
