Wine Festival in Bordeaux
Winegrowers from 80 appellations offer their reds, whites and rosés on the approximately two-kilometre-long wine route along the Bordeaux waterfront.
And in workshops, those interested are introduced to the art of wine tasting. There are countless art exhibitions, concerts and readings.
And an impressive light and sound show at the Place de Quinconces tells the story of wine growing in Aquitaine in a spectacular production. The evening ends with a grand fireworks.
But wine is not only celebrated in the city. Whether in the Médoc, Saint-Estèphe or Sauternes: the wineries throughout the Bordelais invite you to guided tours and tastings during the festive season.
Organised day tours take you through ancient, beautiful cultural landscapes.
A very popular destination worth visiting is St. Emilion: the charming medieval town is ideal for strolling around and sampling the town's own macarons or other local specialities.
St. Emilion is located in the wine-growing region of the same name, whose red wines are among the finest in the Bordelais.
