There are more than 80 wineries around Lake Biel. And almost all of them are family businesses. Their products, once more feared than loved as simple drinking pigs, are now of remarkable quality and can be found on the cards of the upscale gastronomy.

The success is celebrated by the inhabitants of the Twann wine village at the end of October with a hearty festival.
A market with local and regional craftsmanship, Twann wines in cosy Carnotzets - these are the names of the rustic cellars where the wines are stored, but where you can also taste them - and stalls with fresh sea fish provide for the physical well-being.

There is also the Trüelete-Marit, a market with local and regional handicrafts, a village table, tombola and children's entertainment. And of course live music - from jazz and rock to brass and pop to church music and acapella.
The highlight is the christening of the vintage year and the awarding of prizes to the excellent companies from Lake Biel.
