One of the Czechs' favourite dishes is apricot dumplings - and the best fruit for this delicacy comes, everyone is sure, from the area around Miroslav on the Czech-Austrian border. Since 1990, a two-day festival has been dedicated to the rose fruit - with a colourful programme:

The participants compete for the title of dumpling king, whose task is to eat as many apricot dumplings as possible within 20 minutes.
Incidentally, the record is an incredible 128 dumplings - set by Karel Hamersky. In addition, the best apricot schnapps and the most original recipe for an apricot dish will be chosen.

The most beautiful apricot is also chosen by the festival participants. The festival is accompanied by a fair with folk crafts and concerts. A parade of people in historical costumes passes through the town. There is also a colourful programme with competitions  for children.
