Cheese Week of the Torta del Casar


Torta del Casar is a soft cheese made from sheep's milk of the Merino and Entrefina breeds.

It is mainly produced in the small town of Casar in the province of Cáceres and is characterised by its aromatic, pearly mass.


For a whole week, the Torta, which in 2019 was awarded the title of Spain's best cheese at the Trujillo Cheese Fair, is the protagonist of a festival in Casar de Càceres.
It will be the venue for a week-long tasting with commentary, cheese making workshops and culinary demonstrations.

The town's restaurants also take part in the event, offering a variety of cheese tapas.
A cheese competition and cultural events round off the programme. And the ancient cultural landscape of the surrounding area invites you to go hiking.
