Around 200,000 goats live in the Sierra de las Nieves, north of Málaga. The native breed - brown and with protruding ears - has a special quality, so milk kid from Málaga is a registered trademark, similar to the Iberian ham.

Not only the meat of Cabra malagueña, the Málaga goat, is unique, but also its milk.
With significantly more protein and less lactose, it is an excellent cheese that has already won many prizes in Spain.

In order to make its excellent product better known, the local goat breeding association of Casabermeja organises a goat festival every year - with a tapas competition and tastings of cheese or products with cheese or goat meat.

There are also guided tours of the goat meadows and cheese producers, as well as performances by musicians in the central square of the village.
Other local products such as honey can also be tasted. There is also a colourful children's programme.
