Lambrusco: Not so long ago, this meant two-litre basket bottles and headaches. But meanwhile the sparkling red wine has regained its old quality - also thanks to the winegrowers from the DOC cultivation areas Grasparossa, Sorbara, Reggiano and Salamino di Santa Croce.

In the wine-growing village of Castelvetro di Modena, the inhabitants celebrate their red sparkling wine with a festival at which the best productions of DOC-certified Lambrusco can be tasted directly by the winegrowers.
There are also various food stalls in the historic town centre.

The festival is accompanied by live music and art exhibitions. On weekends, famous Italian chefs prepare dishes that go particularly well with Lambrusco.
The festival ends with a large Bacchus parade, in which costumed amateur actors parade through the streets on seven large floats.
