On the eve of the event, St. Johann's main square is transformed into a culinary farmers' market - with crusty bread, fresh bacon, cheese and fruit from the region.
Local associations organise hikes to the Harschbichlalm or to the Wilder Kaiser. In the evening, there is a typical Tyrolean party at the Gasthof Neuwirt with a traditional dance group, dancers and yodellers.

The event will open at 12 noon sharp with the march of the St. Johann music band into Speckbacher Straße.
There, helpers have laid a 300-metre-long table on which the hungry guests will devour around 26,000 dumplings in the coming hours.

The party goes on until 9 p.m. - then it's off to the dumpling clubbing in the Kaisersaal.
The dumpling weekend ends the next morning with a morning pint on the main square - with free admission, well-known music groups from Austria will perform - 2019: Die Zillertaler Mander.
