Meißen Wine Festival

For three days, around 50,000 visitors celebrate their wine festival in Meißen.
On more than 20 stages, spread over the alleys and squares of the old town, there will be live acts all day: Big bands and brass bands, country and gospel, rock, pop or house music.
But there are also quiet organ sounds in the city's cathedral, which also invites you to guided tours of the tower every half hour.

At the market, the region's winegrowers serve their Rieslings, Müller-Thurgau or Pinot Gris, but beer stands are also part of the festival culture - after all, the region looks back on a 1000-year-old brewing tradition.

Parade during the Meissen Wine Festival

The highlight of the festival is the parade on Sunday, which is organised by the participating winegrowers, local businesses and associations. The crowning finale is the high-altitude fireworks display on the Elbe, introduced by the torchlight swimmers.
