At the beginning of September, apple strudel takes centre stage in the village of Siusi with its 2,000 inhabitants: the delicious pastry made of wafer-thin dough and a fragrant mass of apples, sultanas and pine nuts is celebrated on the parish square - with a craft and farmers' market, as well as wine, coffee and strudel bars.

Traditional music is played in front of the new village church of Heiligkreuz, countrywomen in traditional costumes show how they spin wool, while their men practise the old craft of basket weaving.

The local inns offer special menus with musical entertainment and the organisers organise a strudel walk to the Malenger Mill and some farms in the area.
