Constance has a centuries-old wine-growing tradition. Founded in 1225, the hospital winery of the town on Lake Constance is the oldest in the country and still has around 23 hectares of vineyards today.

The typical Lake Constance varieties Müller Thurgau, Spätburgunder, Traminer and Regent are cultivated.
Their wines - but also those of 20 other winegrowers from the Lake Constance region - can be tasted at the city's wine festival at the end of July.

There are also culinary specialities from the quadrangle: Dünnele from the wood-furnaceor hearty cheese Spätzle, for example.
The wine festival is rounded off by musical performances and a children's programme with photo shoots, children's make-up and goal-shooting.
