Norway Lobster Festival
Once a year the best chefs in Denmark meet in Østerby harbour on the island of Læsø for a cooking competition.
The task: to create a dish from the Norway lobster, which has been caught off the coast of the island for generations, and other products from the region that will convince the expert jury.
The winner will be awarded the Golden Lobster Scissors. In 2016, star chef Simon Thrane from the Søllerød Kro restaurant in Holte outdid the illustrious competition with a grilled lobster with lobster tartare and mayonnaise.
Not only the jury, but also the visitors can enjoy lobster, fish and seafood from the island's honey at the many stalls.
Festival visitors can also board a fishing boat or visit the production halls of the local lobster producer.
